Sacred Space: A personal sanctuary

You deserve something special, dedicated to YOU and your self-care! Having a sacred space not only transforms part of your environment into a sanctuary for you, but it gives you a place to visit every day, where you can turn off the noise of the World, and focus inward, on YOU, and what you need.

Simply put, Sacred Space is time and space (an area) that you have intentionally set aside to experience a re-connection with yourself, your Divination, and your Spirit, which usually escapes us in this fast-paced everyday life we live. The object of this is to maintain a healthy and balanced (aligned) connection with your body, your mind, your intuition, your soul (Higher Self / Spirit / Inner Compass), and your emotions.

Now, a sacred space doesn’t have to be crazy! I started with just an incense burner and a chunk of rose quartz on my entrance table. I made a point of burning a stick of incense every day, quietly watching the smoke rise and feeling my stresses melt away, even if it was only for those 10 minutes.

Find a comfortable space to sit or lay quietly & close your eyes.
☀️Focus your attention on your breath, take four deep breaths in, opening & extending your chest and exhale with a long ‘aaaah’ sigh.
☀️Find your attention on your Solar Plexus Chakra, your chakra of self-confidence, ambition, personal power, ego, manifestation, abundance, will, self-esteem and clairsentience.
☀️Notice its colour, how does it look today? Is it a bright, warm sunshine yellow, or a darker, muddy mustard colour? How does it feel today? Do you feel abundant, confident and have healthy boundaries in your life? Or are you feeling powerless, lacking motivation, or very rigid in your opinions – living in your ego? Whatever you notice, don’t judge yourself in this moment, only observe.
☀️Now imagine your Solar Plexus Chakra begin to start spinning in a clockwise direction, imagine the lotus petals of this Chakra open up & a vibrant yellow light filling into the center of this Chakra as it continues to spin, faster & faster, clearing out all the negative energy blocking it & replacing it with only brilliant, healing energy.
☀️Repeat the following (in your mind or out loud) “I am strong. I am powerful. I am confident”.
☀️Stay in this space for as long as you feel the need, trust your intuition here. You will know when your Chakra has had its fill.
☀️Once you feel that your Chakra is done, notice it’s spinning slow down as the yellow light begins to pull away, & the lotus petals close up and over your Chakra.
☀️Bring your attention back to your breath, your body & your environment and when you are ready open your eyes.☀️Chanting “RAM” (Raaaaahhhmmmm) during the above meditation is an alternative to the affirmation, or you can include it after your affirmations before closing your Chakra.

Affirmations for Self-Healing; Giving and Receiving.

Happy Monday Beautiful Souls!

We haven’t done an affirmation for self-healing in a while, and what better way to start our week off than with a little self-love and personal development!

This week, let’s think about the topic of ‘giving’. How many of you truly appreciate the joy of giving, and what it means to give? Are you a giver, or do you prefer to receive?

And I don’t just mean the material act of giving. Do you give yourself authentically to others – your time, your words, your patience, your love? What does the word “give” mean to you? Many of us don’t believe we are worthy of receiving, so we prefer to give, and visa verca.
I want you to know today that you are worthy? You are worthy and deserving of feeling the pure joy and love that goes into giving and receiving – but in order to receive, we must learn to give 🙏🏼💕

To give can be make us feel incredibly vulnerable, and then expectant on the opposite scale. By understanding that giving is not a privilege or a reward, but a natural act of loving, and being loved in return. 💗 Our #affirmations for Self-Healing: “Today I will learn to give. I will realise that giving is part of the cycle of giving and receiving, the cycle of change. Today I will nourish someone with light”. This affirmation is about communication, make this your practice for today, feel an impulse of loving awareness and then gift it. Send that impulse of love to a person in need, a person you already love or all the people in the world, and then, let it go. 🔅Whatever you notice, don’t judge yourself in this moment, only observe.
🔅Now imagine your Base Chakra begin to start spinning in a clockwise direction, imagine the lotus petals of this Chakra open up and a bright red light filling your Base Chakra as it continues to spin, faster and faster clearing our all the negative energy blocking it and replacing it with only brilliant, healing energy.
🔅Repeat the following (either in your mind our out loud) “I and grounded. I am safe. I am secure”.
🔅Stay in this space for as long as you feel the need, trust your intuition here. You will know when your Chakra has had its fill.
🔅Once you feel that your Chakra has had its fill, notice your Chakra begin to slow down as the red light begins to pull away, and the lotus petals close up and over your Chakra.
🔅Bring your attention back to your breath, your body and your environment, and when you are ready you can open your eyes.
🔅Chanting “LAM” (Luuuhhmmmmm) during the above meditation is an alternative to the affirmation, or you can include it after your affirmations.

Affirmation readings are something that I’ve been doing for some time now but have never done a post explaining that they actually are.

~ Cleanse my Mind, Body, and Soul. Part 2…

IMG_3319Last week I discussed the importance of what I call a full mind, body and soul detox and cleanse, and if you have any questions about that or not quite sure what I was talking about, drop me a mail or comment below and I will get in touch!

Today I want to share my personal MBS Detox routine that I set time aside for at least twice a week. If I don’t get a chance to do it, I really start to feel it! My body gets achy, my energy levels drop, I start becoming irritable and cranky, and I just start feeling pretty dreadful. It’s a simple practice that I made a point of regularly incorporating into my week, and like I said previously, I now can’t live without it!!

Before I get into the details, I want to just remind you that this is a practice that I have developed through my own personal self-care and works for my mind, body, and soul. I encourage everyone to find something that works for you and only do what makes you feel 100% comfortable. 

So here’s what I do, it’s really pretty simple and practical. At least twice a week I will use my local gym’s sauna and steam rooms to 1. detox (sauna) and 2. cleanse (steam). Aside from the additional health benefits of steam rooms and saunas, this is my weekly “spring cleaning”.

Detox

I begin in the sauna, and as I’m sitting there feeling my body warm up, I intend that the heat from the sauna is bringing all the negative energy and toxins stored in my body, my mind and my energetic body to the surface. Naturally, the heat of the sauna soothes your nerve endings and warms and relaxes muscles, in turn relieving the tension from your body and minimizing joint pain.

Close your eyes, lay down (or sit) and relax. Breathe deeply in and out, visualising the warm air entering your body, warming up your insides, circulating your body and loosening all that energetic gunk, dis-comfort or pain that is being stored. Starting from your toes, up your legs, through your torso, into your heart and chest, up your throat into your mind and out down your arms and fingers. Feel the heat lifting and carrying that gunk, the aches and pains out of your body through your feet, hand and skin (perspiration). If there is a particular ache in my body, I say “I release what no longer serves me” when I get to it, this helps the body lift it and carry it away. Do this as many times as you feel necessary, and remember intention is everything here!

Once you feel that you have had enough time in the sauna (listen to your body, it will guide you), cool down completely before the next step. You can rinse off in the shower to help cool down.

Cleanse

Once your heart rate has slowed to normal, and you have cooled down, enter the steam room. Repeat the detox process, but with one little difference. Now, as you breathe in the moist air, your intention and visualisation is that the warm, pure air is cleaning and cleansing every part of your body, mind, and energetic body. Feel the white air fill the now cleansed spaces with love, compassion, and gratitude. Intend that the heavy, wet air that surrounds you is a heavy blanket, covering you and clearing away any energetic gunk that lingers in, and around, you.

When you feel you are cleansed and have had enough time in the steam room, wash off and you are set to go!

If you don’t have access to a steam room or sauna, you can also do this in the shower or soaking in the tub which I do if I can’t get to the gym. There is no rule on how long you need to do it for, but I caution when using a sauna and steam room to use common sense, don’t push your body beyond what feels right and comfortable.

Personally, I love the heat from the sauna, and can spend up to an hour in it, but that is ME! I also use tumbled smokey quartz in the steam room to assist with the removal of energetic gunk, but I will go do another post on how you can incorporate healing crystals and essential oils into cleansing exercises.

**If you have low blood pressure, are pregnant or have cardiac issues, please do seek medical advice before-hand. It is often recommended to have short breaks in between sauna and steam room sessions to cool down, i.e. use the sauna for 10 minutes, exit and cool down and enter for an additional 10 minutes.

Regular MBS detox and cleanse goes a long way to a healthy flow of energy through the body, resulting in us feeling more balanced, reducing negative emotions and behaviours, like mood swings, stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!
