The benefits of Energy Work for Children

benefits of reiki for childrenMy favourite clients are my little clients, and their parents (ofcourse!) 👧🏼💞🌱🌞Kids are so open to energy work and holistic tools that the effects are seen almost instantly! When looking at the benefits of energy work for children, it’s a no brainer!

Diet, screen time, environmental and noise pollution, physical activity, time outside, etc. are some of the things that play a massive role in child wellbeing, behaviour, and physical health. I see so many parents who are distressed over their child being tearful, frustrated, irritable, moody, aggressive, unable to concentrate, and so on.

Reiki, Crystal Healing, Chakra Balancing, Emotional and Vibrational Aromatherapy are just a few of the holistic methods that are incredibly beneficial to the growing mind, bodies, emotions, and spirits of children and babies, as it restores the natural balance within the body and offers support for those areas that a child may be having difficult with but they may not yet be able to communicate.

Learning how your child energetic, emotional, and mental anatomy functions offers insight into their physical wellbeing and behaviour. I love offering treatments to children, but my greater joy is empowering their parents to do it for them (the children) by teaching the parent how to do the work themselves.

Holistic Tarot

Transpersonal Tarot 101

Transpersonal Tarot GuideStarting a Tarot practice can be intimidating at first, but it doesn’t have to be.

Like everything Metaphysical, there are many differing opinions and interpretations about Transpersonal, or Holistic, Tarot out there, and many different ways that people use different types of holistic tools. In Holistic Healing, the tool is not the focus, it is, rather, how we use it. So, in this case, and the way I teach Tarot use, your tarot card deck (or a traditional playing card deck) is the “tool”, or “instrument” that you will be using to assess and understand the state of your mind, body, and spirit.

In my Transpersonal Tarot Reading Course, you learn how to use this tool, your Tarot Deck, as a way to expand your self-awareness, consciousness, spiritual understanding, and receive opportunities for inner guidance and introspection in order to make better life decisions. In addition to this, you learn how to use cards as a tool for personal growth, self-improvement and spiritual development.

Notice here that I have mentioned nothing about being psychic.

How do the cards work?

Transpersonal Tarot works hand in hand with your energy and the Law of Attraction. Tarot Cards work off of our energy, and the energies that we are putting out into the Universe. To explain the Law of Attraction simply, it is the Universal Law that states “Like Attracts Like”. This law is governed by thought energy, our beliefs, emotional feelings and responses, and ultimately the decisions we make and actions that we take within our day to day lives.

The reason why Tarot Cards can be such an empowering and valuable tool is because they offer us an opportunity to examine the energies that we are emanating (which is what each of them represent), and what we will be likely attracting into our lives, either currently or over time, if we continue to put out those same energies, thoughts, emotions and actions.

I view Transpersonal Tarot as a form of Spiritual Coaching, or Counselling, paired with Holistic Self-Healing, and when we use Tarot Cards in a Holistic way, we become more aware of who we are and why we are the way we are (aka. Self-Awareness), we become aware of the bigger picture of the Universe and the beauty of Human Existence (The Story of The Fools Journey), and we gain an increased appreciation and respect for “Free Will” and “cause and effect” (aka. The Law of Attraction). And by doing so, we are addressing all aspects of our being – mind, body, and spirit. Transpersonal Tarot is a journey into The Self, it is your own personal counselling session, if you will, and is a tool that we can use every day, to successfully relieve stress, and live an empowered and mindful life by design.

The term ‘Transpersonal’ simply means “areas of consciousness beyond the limits of personal identity”, and Transpersonal is exactly that, using the Tarot as a tool to address the health, well being and growth of all parts that make up a person – mind, body, and soul.

Interpreting your Cards

Now, not everything that I teach in my course is going to be covered in this post, but below I will share a simple guide and basic interpretations of your Tarot Deck that you can use to start exploring, understanding and using your cards as a tool for self-empowerment, healing, and growth.

Energetic Anatomy of Children – The Crown Chakra

Ending off this series with the last energy center that makes up our 7 Basic Chakra system, our Crown Center or Crown Chakra. This center is where we begin to develop a relationship with a Divinity, with our Higher Consciousness, and is the center from where we form our purpose for life. This Thousand Petal Lotus governs our thought, consciousness, information processing, and our intelligence, focusing on our belief systems and our connection to life, others, and a Higher Source.

Crown Chakra development in ChildrenBroad overview of the Seventh energy center, and its developmental characteristics.

  • DEVELOPMENT – Early adulthood, onwards
  • Body Location – Crown (Cranium), top of head
  • Birthright – The right to know and to learn
  • Element – Thought
  • Purpose – Understanding
  • AKA Crown Chakra

The task of this center is to understand our thoughts and belief systems, and to process information – this involves the examination of consciousness and the manifestation of this consciousness. Through consciousness we create thought, and thereby creating the totality of our reality. Experiencing and expanding consciousness is an internal experience, and begins with a discovery of greater meaning and spiritual yearning for a union that is greater than ourselves. Spiritual abuse, or denying someone their natural experience of spirituality by enforcing certain belief systems can create confusion, inner conflict, and even a disconnect in this center.

Disturbances to the development of this center:

  • Withheld information
  • Education that hinders curiosity
  • Forced religiosity
  • Invalidation of one’s beliefs
  • Blind obedience (no right to question or to think for oneself)
  • Invalidation of one’s beliefs
  • Misinformation, lies
  • Spiritual abuse

Imbalance in this center can later manifest as:

  • Spiritual/Religious cynicism
  • Learning difficulties
  • Rigid belief systems
  • Apathy
  • Excess of energy in lower centers, due to energy being forced down from the Crown – materialism, greed, domination of others
  • Overintellectualisation
  • Spiritual addiction
  • Confusion
  • Dissociation from body
  • Loss of meaning, or purpose
  • Loss of connection – from life, others, or with the Divine
  • Excessive worry
  • Closed-Minded
  • Depression
  • Hypersensitivity to light, sounds, and environmental stimulus
  • Musculoskeletal System Disease
  • Skin Disorders
  • Chronic Exhaustion
  • Cognitive delusions
  • Migraines

While the Crown Chakra only matures in early adulthood, and enter into the world as an independent 20-something – every interaction throughout the maturity stages of the six prior Chakras influences the connection that we have with our Crown, and our world, and our connection with a Higher Source. Western culture is founded on the belief system that spirit and matter are separate and different. The Earth is treated like an inanimate object to be used wastefully, at our own lack of discretion. Science examines the world rationally and methodically, corporations are built to enhance their economic prowess often with little regard for the spiritual well-being of their employees or their environment. Those who do give spirituality a high priority are often considered fringe members of society – although this is slowly beginning to change, we still see very little emphasis placed on the spiritual well-being in schools and work environments creating a conflict between ‘what is’ and ‘what should be’. Religion has become indoctrinated with power and mis-use of the Divine in such a way that many prefer to ‘steer clear’ of it than have any involvement or association, which is sad because the word religion comes from the Latin, Religare, which means “to re-connect”, its purpose to facilitate a reconnection with spirit, with soul, and the vital and eternal aspects of life.

Along our journey from birth to wherever we are right now, we encounter obstacles and difficulty. The traumas and abuses, or mis-uses, that we experience as a child, the lack of consciousness with which we operate at, the blind spots of our cultures or religions – all of these serve to limit us, to twist our path off its basic right, and warp our inner and outer beliefs. At each level of energetic maturity we encounter a kind of realisation, as we grow up we simultaneously meet energy coming down from the top. The journey upward allows us to access higher levels of organisation and understanding, a shift in perspective, and transformation. The Journey downwards allow us to bring light to that higher consciousness, we bring a higher awareness into our lower energy centers. The Crown Chakra is not merely a state of understanding, it is a state of being. When we have fully arrived at this level, without denying or skipping over the developmental levels of the Chakras below, we have arrived at a fully conscious state of being – stable, loving, compassionate, and conscious adults. When we are about t bring consciousness to our power, we not only have activity, but directed transformation – and these qualities become a part of our ability to manifest.

Energetic Anatomy of Children- Third Eye

Moving onto the second last center of the Basic Chakra system today – the Sixth Chakra, or Third Eye. This is one of the more commonly know energy centers within the body – but do you know how it’s maturation influences the emotional and energetic development of your child?

Child development of third eye chakraThis is the center of our visual, inner, spiritual, and intuitive perception – but it is also so much more than that. It is through this center that our child begins to ‘bring the light of consciousness’ to everything around them – how they form their perceptions of themselves, their family and peers, and how the world around them works.

They begin to recognise patterns in the functioning’s of life, relationships, and the intricacies of their world. Once they have the tools to see a pattern begin to take form, they can intuit the necessary steps to complete it.

A broad overview of the sixth energy center, and its developmental characteristics;

💜DEVELOPMENT – Adolescence

💜Body Location – Forehead/Brow

💜Birthright – The right to see and perceive

💜Element – Light

💜Purpose – Pattern Recognition

💜AKA Ajna Chakra

A child’s imagination is almost always engaged – free from fixed knowledge about the way things are or ‘should be’. In their innocence, children often see clearly things of the heart, free to perceive them as they are. The innumerable questions that form childhood curiosity as they try to decipher the patterns that influence their lives, can lead to a child either being liberated in their understanding or restrained in their beliefs.

Pattern recognition is a skill that develops throughout a child’s life – from recognising the face of their mother to falling into the routine of their family roles, the evolution of patterns moves from the simple to the complex. Each pattern perceived tells a child something about them self, and something about their world. Each pattern becomes a story, and each story becomes part of the inner matrix of understanding that is constantly forming as the child learns and grows.

Disturbances to the development of this center:

  • ‘Ugly’ or frightening environment (violence/abuse too scary to see)
  • What the child sees does not match what they are told (“do as I say and not as I do” or “I am the parent” mentality)
  • Invalidation of intuition and spiritual (psychic) occurrences
  • Unhealthy patterns in relationships modeled by parents/significant adults
  • Restrictive/overly strict/controlling parents or home environment (through adolescence)
  • Child constantly told to grow up

Imbalance in this center can later manifest as:

  • Insensitivity
  • Lack of imagination
  • Denial (can’t see what’s going on)
  • Monopolarised (one true right and only way)
  • Hallucinations
  • Delusions
  • Obsessions
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Nightmares
  • Poor vision/vision problems
  • Headaches
  • Poor memory
  • Difficulty picturing the future
  • Difficulty visualising
  • Clumsy
  • Avoid tactile stimulus
  • Head in the clouds/space

When this center begins to mature through the adolescence of a child, we begin to see the child exploring themself and their world beyond their ego, often seeking independence from the parent but still needing the reassurance that their support system is in tact.

It is through these years that the child with forms healthy or unhealthy perceptions of how they function, how their relationship units function, and the role that these all play within their world. They begin to understand the human functioning, and all its possibilities to either make or break, and this begins to form their perception of all that is.

Energetic Anatomy of Children – Sacral Chakra

“To lack feeling is to not be alive, but to act on every feeling is to be a child”, Brandon Sanderson.

If you are familiar with your Sacral Center, your second Chakra, you’ll know that this center governs creativity, movement, feeling and sensation, emotions, sexuality, need, pleasure (both sexual and non), and desire. All of these aspects play an important role in the development of your child.

A broad overview of the Second energy center, and its developmental characteristics:
🧡DEVELOPMENT – 6 months to 2 years
🧡Body Location – Lower Abdomen
🧡Birthright – The right to feel
🧡Element – Water
🧡Purpose – MOVEMENT
🧡AKA Sacral Chakra

Senses are an important part of understanding our world, as it is through our senses that we are able to bridge the gap between our internal and external worlds. It is through their senses that a baby is able to feel and perceive, and their value system begins to form.

From the Base center of stability and foundation, a child progresses to the second center where they begin to develop feelings and movement – and they begin to experience CHANGE. Through consistency, their expanding consciousness begins to find meaning, and through change, they discover stimulation and expansion.

Emotions form building blocks to transformation on all levels. Obstructed emotional expression infringes upon a child’s basic right to feel.

Disturbances to the development of this center:

  • Emotionally volatile environments
  • Emotional abuse/manipulation
  • Denial of a child’s feeling states
  • Restriction of movement and exploration – Separation Anxiety
  • Sexual and physical abuse
  • Neglect
  • Restricted play
  • Guilt from parent/caretaker
  • Denial or restriction of things that bring pleasure and joy
  • Inherited issues
  • Cut off from feeling, or being told to stop feeling

Imbalances in this center can later manifest as:

  • emotional disorders (oversensitive, fearful, anxious, emotional dependency)
  • Poor social skills (does not know how to interact in their world)
  • Denial of pleasure
  • Sexuality issues
  • Fear of change
  • Poor boundaries
  • Obsessive attachment
  • Rigidity in the body
  • Problems with reproductive organs (fertility and menstruation, impotence, endometriosis), spleen, and urinary system
  • Loss of ‘appetite’ for food, sex, life.
  • Eating disorders
  • Overly sexual behaviour for child’s age

Understanding how this center influences the development of your children allows a broader perspective of just how important it is for babies and children to experience their world, to feel their feelings and emotions, and to have the freedom (with mom and dad’s watchful eye) to physically explore their world safely.

As they begin to become aware they are no longer attached to their mother and begin to explore the new sensations – fear and joy – that come as a result of this change, how we as parents guide them through this process can ensure they later grow to be comfortable with CHANGE, what they’re feeling, and that it’s okay to have and experience emotions as a direct result of an experience – instilling self-assurance and emotional stability. 🙏❤

Energetic Anatomy of Children – Base Center

The energetic anatomy of children, i.e. their Chakras, offer gifts in the form of life lessons, and when a child is growing and learning to understand their world, and their relationship with their world – these life lessons make long-lasting impressions.

Here is a broad overview of the First energy center, and its developmental characteristics.
❤DEVELOPMENT – Womb to 12 months
❤Body Location – Base of spine
❤Birthright – The right to be here (exist).
❤Element – Earth (our roots)
❤AKA Base/Root Chakra

The Base Center governs the fundamental basic needs, or rights, of every person:
* Food
* Safety
* Love
* Shelter
* Sleep

This center begins to mature while the child is still in utero, and can easily be influenced by the emotional, mental, physical and energetic state of the mother. Once the child is born, it relies on its mother for its survival. However, this center can also become unbalanced throughout a child’s life.

If any of these basic needs is threatened or not met, there becomes an imbalance within this center that further influences both the development of the second center, as well as the emotional development of the child. (As with all emotional imbalances, these can manifest later as physical ailments)

Disturbances to the development of this center:
* Volatile home environment, both before and after child is born
* Abandonment
* Birth trauma
* Neglect
* Poverty
* Physical and emotional abuse
* Inherited Trauma (from mother in utero)
* Broken promises/inability to trust parents

Imbalances in this center can later manifest as:
* low immune system
* Heart problems
* Fatigue
* Poor focus and discipline
* Fearful/Anxious
* Restless
* Hyper-Alert (neuroticism)
* Difficulty focusing on simple tasks
* Addictive behaviours
* Insecurity/co-dependency
* Poor personal boundaries
* Notable weight issues – underweight or obese (for age)

Understanding how this center influences the development of our children allows us a broader perspective of how they may be processing their world. Understanding how this center develops also offers us valuable insight into our own childhood, any upsets we may have experienced, and how these areas influence how we, as a result, parent our children.

Always be loving, compassionate and open-minded when learning about these areas as it can often uncover some sensitive situations from the past. 🙏❤ If you have any questions, feel free to email me ( or drop them in the comments below👇❤

Energetic Anatomy of Children

Children grow in unique ways. This is undeniable! But so much attention is given only to their physical and cognitive development – we analyze their growth and development according to how quickly they achieve certain milestones. They’re considered early-developers if they happen to roll over, crawl, walk, or talk before a specific age, and slow-developers if it happens after the ‘general age’.

And while these areas of development are absolutely necessary, what mainstream childcare doesn’t take into account or educate about is the energetic and emotional development of your child – how their energy body grows as they do.

For those of you who are familiar with the energetic anatomy, your Chakras, for instance, may know that we are all born with all of our 7 major Chakras already in place – but what you might not have known, is that each of the Chakras nature’s at different stages, and ages, of our life. The maturity phases of each of our 7 main Chakras plays a MASSIVE role in the emotional, mental, and physical development of our children – their emotions, their moods, their behaviours, phases that they go through – the terrible two’s, 3’s, and 4’s, etc.

Children and their development isn’t as black and white as some would like to think, out children, and their energetic anatomy, is as complex as ours – but gaining some knowledge into it and understanding how it develops over time can offer you extremely valuable insight into your child – it may even answer some questions you’ve had!

If you’re interested in learning about and understand more about your child’s energetic anatomy, and how it changes and influences them as they grow, make sure you are following on either FB or IG, or check back here for my next posts as I explore the different energy centres, and how they develop in children.

Flower Therapy for Kids

flower therapy for kids“…I feel very strongly there is an intelligence at work in every flower, in every blade of grass, in every cell of my body.” ~ Eckart Tolle. 🌺

Hey Momma’s 🙋🏻If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know how much I love gentle, healing energies of Flower Therapy! 🌸If you’re new here 👋Flower Therapy is a form of energy healing done by bringing the unique colour and essence of a particular flowing into the space of the Chakra, or area of our body, that it vibrationally corresponds too. ✨Flower Therapy is a form of both active and silent meditation, from subconsciously selecting the flowers you want to work with, to placing them mindfully on your body and laying quietly while they work their magic! 🌈

Flower Therapy is an amazing holistic exercise that we can do with, and for, our littles; helping to release excessive energies that may be building up in their systems, grounding and connecting them, cleansing and restoring their natural balance (especially when they’ve been around too many electromagnetic frequencies) and energizing them with all those gorgeous high vibes! 💫Kids are naturally more dominant in their lower four chakras, especially from birth to 7 years, making them more in touch with their natural connection to the Earth, but is great for kids of all ages! 💚

So how do you go about doing this?

~ Allow your child to pick a flower for each Chakra (or the colours of the 🌈) , using white or purple for the crown (check previous flower Therapy posts for suggestions).

~ Let me spend as long as they need for this process, they will be attracted to the flower that they need (same applies for you momma!!)

~ Depending on the age of your little, you can have them lay the flowers on their body making a rainbow from their feet up to their head, or they can play with them as they sit quietly with them self.

~ If they are younger, ask them to make patterns or pictures with their flowers – what they create is not important, it’s the process of mindfully having the flowers in their personal space.

~ If they are older, ask them to lay down with the flowers in place, to close their eyes and imagine the rainbow lights from the flowers filling their body, starting with red and ending with their head.

~ When they are finished, they will know, ask them if they saw anything in their imagination, or felt any sensations in their body, if they had any emotions come up or memories while they were laying there. This is a subtle way of introducing them to being conscious of their thoughts, emotions, energies and physical body.

flower therapy for children ~ While your child is choosing their flowers, pay attention to the flowers, and colours, they reach for first! This will give you some insight into which areas, and chakras, need work.

Children are growing and learning (about themselves, others and their world), experiencing new things, overcoming challenges and disappointments, creating and pushing boundaries, loving and being loved, exploring independence but wanting security…. and all of these natural process’ can influence their energetic (and emotional) health. Giving them the tools to help them through these areas and challenges teaches them to;
~ Be conscious of them self, and others
~ Take time to care for them self and respect that others require the same
~ Be empowered and self-heal

Doing this activity with your little is a great way to spend QT with them, and get some beautiful, natural healing in at the same time 🙂 Questions? Pop them below.

I am Heart Chakra!

Hello Beauty! Today we begin the next chapter of our Chakra series – to learn a little more than the basics about our Heart Chakra!

I’m always so grateful that the information & education I share is able to reach so many,  if you’re enjoying this series I would love for you to pass it forward & share the love with your friends!

Our Heart Chakra, our fourth centre is located above our heart & lungs, and represents;
our ability to love & be loved,
to maintain a healthy balance in relationships,
empathy, compassion & the ability to forgive,
our morals & values.

So how do we know if our Heart Chakra is balanced or could use a little TLC?
☘️Balanced ~ You have no difficulty in acting kind, loving & respectful towards others & have healthy, respectful, win-win relationships. You have healthy self-appreciation & can say that you truly love, respect & appreciate the person you are! You are able to deal with loss in a healthy way, & allow yourself to forgive (yourself & others).
☘️Imbalanced – You’ve noticed that you act unkind & disrespectful towards others, & people can be unloving & disrespectful towards you. you may be in an unhealthy, imbalanced relationship & you often feel unhappy/sad. You don’t particularly care for the person that you are or have become, & tend to experience more negative emotions than good. You don’t deal with disappointment or loss well & tend to hold grudges.

If the heart chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel detached from the world around you. Each breath we take connects us to our physical & spiritual world, and, if unbalanced can lead to a disconnection from the people we love, love for ourselves, & love for the Earth. Difficult relationships can heighten this and we can lose hope – we lose sight of beauty, love, empathy, & compassion.
If any of these resonate with you, or you wish to learn more, follow along as next we’ll learn simple self-healing exercises to bring you more balance & healing to this centre.
Love & Blessings, Kerry. X

Solar Plexus Chakra Meditation

Solar Plexus Chakra Healing Meditation Hello Beautiful Souls! We are at the end of our Solar Plexus Chakra journey, and now that you have the basic knowledge and tools to heal, balance energise this centre, here is a simple Solar Plexus Chakra Meditation that will have you feeling more connected and energised.

You can use your beautiful Solar Plexus crystals & essential oils to assist this meditation! ✨

Find a comfortable space to sit or lay quietly & close your eyes.
☀️Focus your attention on your breath, take four deep breaths in, opening & extending your chest and exhale with a long ‘aaaah’ sigh.
☀️Find your attention on your Solar Plexus Chakra, your chakra of self-confidence, ambition, personal power, ego, manifestation, abundance, will, self-esteem and clairsentience.
☀️Notice its colour, how does it look today? Is it a bright, warm sunshine yellow, or a darker, muddy mustard colour? How does it feel today? Do you feel abundant, confident and have healthy boundaries in your life? Or are you feeling powerless, lacking motivation, or very rigid in your opinions – living in your ego? Whatever you notice, don’t judge yourself in this moment, only observe.
☀️Now imagine your Solar Plexus Chakra begin to start spinning in a clockwise direction, imagine the lotus petals of this Chakra open up & a vibrant yellow light filling into the center of this Chakra as it continues to spin, faster & faster, clearing out all the negative energy blocking it & replacing it with only brilliant, healing energy.
☀️Repeat the following (in your mind or out loud) “I am strong. I am powerful. I am confident”.
☀️Stay in this space for as long as you feel the need, trust your intuition here. You will know when your Chakra has had its fill.
☀️Once you feel that your Chakra is done, notice it’s spinning slow down as the yellow light begins to pull away, & the lotus petals close up and over your Chakra.
☀️Bring your attention back to your breath, your body & your environment and when you are ready open your eyes.☀️Chanting “RAM” (Raaaaahhhmmmm) during the above meditation is an alternative to the affirmation, or you can include it after your affirmations before closing your Chakra.

Have you been following this series? I’d love to hear from you!
