Have you ever considered a Reiki session for your pet, or considered offering your services as a certified Reiki practitioner to our four legged friends? Reiki Healing for Animals is a gentle, safe, and beneficial option for animal treatment.
Unlike people, animals are not able to communicate verbally with us and rely on their behaviour and affections as a way to communicate with us. Aside from physical illness and discomfort, animals also experience emotional issues like fear and anxiety, trauma, grief, separation anxiety, trouble adjusting to new environments, and can find deep healing and relief through receiving Reiki.
Dogs, for example, can be quite highly strung and having family members leave them alone can become a traumatic experience for them, especially if they are already prone to being anxious. If a dog seems to bark too much, resists getting trained, or tends to chew up everything in the house when alone, regular Reiki sessions are a great option for them to calm and release some of that pent up energy and frustration.
The Heart Connection
Reiki for animals is a safe and natural complementary therapy that can be used just in the same way as you, the practitioner, would use it with your clients. Reiki does not involve the administration of any drug, it cannot bring any harm to the animal or worsen their affliction.
Our pets not only give us their unconditional love but many studies over the years have shown the relaxation and ‘healing effects’ that happen when people spend time with their pets. It is believed that animals absorb energy from their owners in order to heal them, taking on the illnesses of their owners in some cases. By practicing animal Reiki, we are able to replenish the energy we borrowed from then and return the healing, unconditional love, and, balance, and happiness that they give us. Giving animals Reiki is simple and safe spiritual practice of compassion.
In fact, when you practice Reiki on animals, you practice compassion for all beings and become deeply connected with your natural energetic support system, Mother Earth. When we work with Animals, we are forced to move beyond the comfort of verbal cues of working with other humans, and are forced to connect inwards to your Heart Space so that you can better connect with and communicate with the energy of the animals in question. When we work with animals, we are helping ourselves remember and connect to our Inner Wisdom of Universal connection to all things; the more we practice this, the deeper our healing becomes, because when we are healing our inner essence and spirit (our innate oneness), we experience the overflow into the other layers of our being. Animal Reiki encourages us to open our hearts to balance, clarity, and harmony of all things, we experience the beauty of the world as it should be, and we feel our place in it. This is when connection with, healing of, contentment within, transformation, and renewal of all beings follows.
Energetic Anatomy of Animals
Animals, like people, have an energetic system made up of their Aura and Chakras, or energy centres. The animal Chakra System also emits different colour vibrations depending on the shape and intensity of the energy in each centre. The colours displayed by their Chakra Systems are similar as the human system and the functions are almost the same as ours. In four-legged animals, and most domesticated animals, the main difference is that the alignment and positions of the Chakras are often horizontal, instead of vertical.
Most animals have 8 Major Chakras, up to 21 Minor Chakras and 6 smaller energy points known as Bud Chakras. (one on each paw pad (4 in total) and the bud of skin at the opening of the ears). Alongside their Seven Major Chakras that animals share with us humans – Base, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown – there is another Major Chakra that is unique to animals. This Chakra is called the Brachial, or Key, Chakra.
In animals, the energy field is usually much wider than in humans. Because animals have a natural survival instinct, the aura tends to absorb much more sensory information than humans. They receive and distribute energy through each Chakra individually, which makes them more sensitive to more subtle energies and changes within their environment or within the atmosphere, and as a result are perceived to be more intuitive.
