~Munay Ki: the Rites of the Shaman’s Path ~

According to Alberto Villoldo, the word “Munay-Ki” comes from a Quechua word meaning ‘I love you’.

The Munay Ki rites are the nine rites of the shaman’s path of the q’ero nation, the indigenous people in the holy mountains of the Andes, Peru. The Rites are given as the next step in the evolution of humanity; to realign and attune our neuro pathways and truly shift human consciousness. ~ Don’t get down on YOUR luck ~

IMG_3544Feeling down on your luck? ☘This week has been a little crazy for me, but I still make time to check in with myself, my guides and angels, and make time for all of you! So, while my mandala is a couple day’s late this week, I still wanted to check in with the energies and see what we all needed to focus on and get us through any challenges we may be facing this week. ✨ As always, I make these intuitively to as a tool to guide myself, and anyone else that they call too!

Have you been feeling down on your luck?  Things just not going the way you planned? We are reminded today that WE create our realities. In order for us to truly manifest what we desire, we have to be mindful that our thoughts and action mirror those intentions. Today’s crystal grid, although by appearance a simple one, it is packed full of abundance and high vibes!!I was drawn to use green aventurine, apophyllite points x2 and clear quartz in the shape of the infinity symbol!!!

☘Green Aventurine is known as the good luck stone and is often used in rituals with green candles, kept in purses or drawers, and used in crystal grids to attract money and prosperity. It is one of the main stones to attract luck, abundance, and success.

☘ Apophyllite is a particularly high vibration crystal, great for filling a room with high vibrations of peace and love. Meditating with Apophyllite helps increase intuition, connection with guides, enable us to receive visions and insights (intuition) about current situations that may need some introspection.

☘ Clear Quartz is a powerful amplifier of energy and intention! One of the most versatile, yet most powerful crystals you can own.

~Fear. An ‘open forum’ to allaying yours. ~

IMG_3525Why is it in our nature to fear that which we do not know, or understand? Actually, it’s not. Fear is a self-created, emotional defence mechanism to something that we perceive as threatening, and most of these perceptions are a result of inherited prejudices, childhood experiences, and unbalanced chakras.
For example, my ex-husband was terrified of spiders and as a result, my little one was equally as terrified, but when I asked her why she was so completely terrified of something smaller than her baby toenail, she couldn’t tell me. Think of a horror story… loads of non-fictional information put together in a way that scares the heck out of us! Okay, so why am I bringing this up??

The topic of holistic healing and a holistic lifestyle, natural healing, self-care and holistic practices is one that is still quite new and only now becoming more commonly, and openly, spoken about. It’s almost had this fear created around it by some individuals who don’t have the best work ethic and have given the metaphysical genre a negative stigma. This aside, I still find that very few people take the time to learn what it is all about, partly out of fear and closed-mindedness.

Personally, I’ve experienced this many times. I find more and more (particularly in South Africa where I live) that people have some pretty strange reactions when I tell them I’m a holistic healer- they don’t really know what it is, what it involves and how it benefits people, and a LOT of people associate it with religion. So I have decided to cover the basics, both here and on my social media pages!!

~ Introspection: a key to overcoming difficulties ~


The challenges we face not only make us stronger 💪 but welcome compassion into our hearts 💗, allowing us to understand why and how things happen instead of making us bitter. 😇🌿✨ Today’s reading is reminding us that when faced with a difficult situation, we choose introspection rather than reacting to whatever it is that is making us unhappy. 

When we choose to no longer be the victim of a situation and have a more positive outlook, we empower ourselves, turning the viewpoint around and allowing peace in!! 🙏 Trust the loving, intuitive guidance you receive as it’s reminding us that there is always a loving solution to any difficult you need to overcome. 🕉💜

~ Grounded and sane “Frazzle-Free” Toolkit ~

I have had such a busy momma admin day today! My daughter’s ballet exam is coming up and I’ve been rushing around making sure she has everything she needs for it. Not to mention it’s Monday, which is always an admin day for me, but we generally have late starts on a Monday (i.e. we’re usually late). I find people to be a little more aggressive on the roads on Mondays. I’ve never really understood why people get so upset and angered in traffic but this usually leaves me feeling slightly frazzled by the time I get to my final destination! Anyone else have this experience?? Whether you’re a mom or not, simple things like traffic, running late, deadlines, etc. can get you feeling stressed and frazzled too.

I thought I would share one of the most valuable things that I do for myself on a daily basis, especially when I know I have a busy day ahead of me, and that is making sure that I am grounded. This kit keeps me focused on what I need to do, helps me manage the little stresses that come with being a mom, and in check with myself and my surroundings. It’s particularly useful when I’m feeling frazzled…

If you’re not sure what it means to be grounded, simply put it means that you are present in your body and connected with the earth, allowing you to feel centered and balanced no matter what is going on around you.  If you are feeling overwhelmed by everything, misplace items (like car keys) often, keep forgetting appointments and talks, have a million things going through your head and struggle to focus on any of them or feeling like you are putting in so much but achieving very little ~ chances are you are not grounded.


I call this toolkit my Frazzle-Free toolkit, associated with the Root Chakra, it keeps me grounded and balanced every day, regardless of what I have to do. In the morning before I start my day I will sit quietly (you can also do this lying down if you prefer), barefoot, with my black tourmaline chunk between my feet, my Patchouli EO uncapped and my smokey quartz in my hands. I close my eyes and concentrate on breathing deeply and releasing any tension, irritation, anxiety, etc in my mind and body, and do a simple grounding exercise. My feet get super tingly and heavy when I do this, that’s when I know it’s working 🙂

If I’ve had a particularly hectic day, I repeat this little exercise in the evening before going to bed.  When I am feeling uber frazzled, I will rub a couple drops of oil on the soles of my feet (dilute with a carrier oil if you have sensitive skin).
~ Smokey Quartz is one of my favourite grounding stones as it acts like a negative energy filter, sucking in all the negative vibes and releases the purified, positive energy.
~Black Tourmaline is a fab grounding and protection stone, repelling and blocking negative vibes. (A great one for blocking against psychic attacks).
~ Patchouli EO has a really earthy aroma, using aromatically provides a grounding, balancing effect on our emotions. You can use any essential oil that is woody and earthy, like White Fir, Frankincense, Cinnamon and Doterra’s Balance blend, the Patchouli is just my personal pick!

In addition to this, I like to keep some beautiful clear quartz and citrine tumblies in a pouch in my pocket as I run around, and I never leave the house without my smokey quartz and black tourmaline bracelet. The citrine and clear quartz keep my energy levels up and my vibes high!! 🙂

This kit falls part of my daily self-care routine, without fail. By introducing this simple toolkit into your daily routine, you are allowing yourself to release negative energy and connected to the earth. Heck, it’s so simple you can do it sitting in your car. You will begin to feel more content with the daily notions of your everyday life. Not only will this benefit how you feel throughout the day, but it will improve how you think and how you function. ~ Affirmations for the Spring New Moon ~

Happy Spring Day everyone! It is officially here! ✨✨

IMG_3373I absolutely love watching everything come alive after the quieter, colder months. When the seasons change it can be a really significant time in your life, affecting more than just the weather.

For me, spring feels like a rebirth, a fresh start, and an opportunity to make things happen. It’s also a great time to do some energetic “spring cleaning” ✨ Releasing what no longer serves you and making space for that gorgeous, fresh energy to come in.

Not ONLY is there an energetic shift as the season changes, but today brings a new moon!!! There really is no greater time for some new goals, making new plans and setting your intentions for the months ahead! In the spirit of all things new, I am going to share some affirmations that support this change of season and energetic shift. ✨As we know, our thoughts have a major impact on our day-to-day lives, and affirmations are great way to purposefully choose your thoughts, and being conscious of unwanted, negative thoughts ~ Keeping that VIBE hiiiigh!! ✨✨

I use affirmations daily, and the changes they have had not only on my life but my thoughts also, has been transformational.  Thoughts BECOME things, but YOU have a choice in how those things take shape. The negative thoughts in our mind are really just habitual chatter, and we have the power to change them to something positive. Your power to manifest is in this present moment, RIGHT NOW, and is curating your experiences for tomorrow, next week, next month, next year…etc. What are you thinking right this very minute? Is it positive or negative? Is it something that you want to see come to fruition?

Affirmations are ‘thought changers’, they are seeds planted in our subconscious that helps us with changing our thought patterns. They are tools to help us set crystal clear intentions, and getting these intentions to manifest. ✨

Change your thinking and you can change your mind!

As promised, here are some affirmations to get you on your way:
✨~ I love life and life loves me.
✨~ I am a magnet for love and happiness.
✨~ I’m abundant and open to new opportunities. The possibilities are limitless.
✨~ I release that which is not serving me to make space for something better.
✨~ All is well; everything is working out for my highest and greatest good.

Here are some tips on how to set those intentions for this new cycle:

Create a sacred space.
This doesn’t need to be hard work. My suggestion is to head outside if you can, grab a crystal or two, maybe a candle and your journal and pen. Whatever sets the tone of a sacred space for you.

Reflect on last month’s intentions.
If you created an intention list last month, go over it, see where you made progress and celebrate your wins. If this is your first time setting intentions, journaling (or even just jotting down some notes) about what happened in the recent past is a good idea, it will bring to light anything situations or feelings that you wish to change or put an end too. You may be surprised to learn what you’re intentionally or unintentionally drawing in.

✨ Set intentions for this coming month / season.
Take a deep breath and centre yourself. Feel yourself connected to the Earth, as a part of the Universal life force energy. Allow your wishes, goals, and intentions to rise from deep within you. Feel them in your body. On a blank page, write out your intentions. My advice would be to keep this list to about 5 (if this is your first time).

✨ Let the Universe step in.
I like to say my intentions out loud, handing them over to the Universe, my guides, and angels, to set the process in place and to help my wishes unfold for the highest good of all involved. I like to ask for their assistance and guidance along the way, that my thoughts and actions keep me on track so that my intentions unfold in the coming month. I may ask that my intentions are manifested in perfect divine timing and that they be for the greatest good of all involved. Take another deep breath and as you exhale, feel the weight and responsibility for these intentions lift. By allowing the universe, source, God, to step in, you will have divine guidance along the way. It’s not up to you alone to make them happen.

Turn your intentions into affirmations.
Without becoming fixated on the intentions for the month, you may like to rephrase them as positive affirmations and repeat them throughout the month. You can create your own affirmations from your intentions, or you can use the ones above. These can become your daily mantras, have them up somewhere where you can look at them and say them a few times a day.✨ You can write them on post-its and stick them to your bathroom mirror! 🙂 You can say them out loud, in your mind, sing them, shout them.. It doesn’t matter HOW you say them, just say them.

You’ll be surprised at how soon you notice your thought patterns changing. You’ll start to notice you feel better about what’s in front of you and the things you didn’t have will automatically begin drawing towards you. When we set intentions authentically, and truly believe that WE DO DESERVE, you will be AMAZED at how quickly your dreams manifest! ✨

~Find your Voice! Your Communication Toolkit ~

Gosh! There are so many people in my life (friends, family, colleagues) who are experiencing tricky situations right now, this week, that come down to communication!! It may be Mercury Retrograde having tricky influences on their energy, but every day I’m speaking to someone who is in a situation that requires thoughtful, honest but delicate communication.

Let’s chat about the current Mercury Retrograde cycle for a sec. 

I don’t like heading into something expecting the worst, in fact, I advise against it. When we become consumed by what could go wrong (what if..), or expect that something will go wrong, we put that fear, panic, anxiety, dread out into the universe. When we do that, we are telling the universe that that’s what we want to happen. I’m bringing this up because astrological energies do influence us, however, it’s up to us to decide how strong that influence this. This is what has been forecast for this current cycle:

Relationships require meticulous attention to consideration, now — without manipulation or double standard.  It may be more difficult to accomplish, but going the proverbial extra mile and taking a spiritually superior approach will very likely help to build relationships where tensions may otherwise get out of control during this Mercury Retrograde cycle. More so now than usual, this is the time when our communications must be clear, cautious, and discriminating in our choice of words, because misunderstandings occur far more often during Mercury Retrograde.

Interpersonally, communications at all levels are problematic, and we are inclined to think slower – process communications slower! We have to be patient with each other and ourselves. (Source)

Now we know that potentially some communication concerns may arise and instead of fixating on this, we can curate a more uplifting outlook and grab our wellness toolkits to assist us along the way!

What the heck are wellness toolkits? 

I loooove them! My mentor first introduced me to them as a mood management tool, and I’m constantly finding killer combos of my own that I love sharing with anyone and everyone 🙂 They are something I recommend to my clients as part of their action plans after sessions, and personally use them every day. My eight-year-old has even developed her own that she uses regularly. Quite simply they are a combination of essential oils and healing crystals.


This particular one I want to share with you today is a fantastic communication combo, assisting your throat chakra to open up so that you can find your voice!

The combination ~ Blue Kyanite, Turquoise, and Peppermint essential oil! Kyanite helps bridge the communication gap between individuals, helping us speak the truth with clarity. Turquoise gives us the courage we need to express ourselves and speak our truth with ease. Peppermint EO invigorates and stimulates the mind and has a direct action on intellect, promoting creativity and self-expression.

How to use it ~ there are two ways to use this communication toolkit; 1. before going into a situation where a tough communication is needed and, 2. during the situation. (This situation may be a business meeting, a conversation with a friend, or simply writing.)

Before: Sit somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed. Remove the cap from the bottle, close your eyes and, while holding the gems in your hands, inhale the scent from the EO. Allow your mind to clear and focus only on honest, thoughtful messages being received to and delivered from you. You can say an affirmation to help focus your intentions ~ “I send and receive messages with ease and grace. I easily receive all forms of communication that are for the highest good”.

During: If you are able to, using the peppermint oil in a diffuser where you will be whilst you are busy will assist with maintaining that calm, open mood that you have just put yourself in 🙂 It will also create a calm, comfortable environment which will encourage open and honest communication to flow easily. You can keep your gems near you, or in your pocket.

You can use other combinations of crystals and oils, this is the combo that does wonders for me! Try it out, and let me know what you got from it. By all means, experiment with other crystals and oils to find what is a fit for you! These are also great for communication;

~ Crystals: Celestite, Sodalite, Blue Lace Agate, Lapis Lazuli.

~ Essential Oils: Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Eucalyptus.

~ The ‘work-life’ balancing act ~

I shared this quote on Facebook this morning as part of a challenge that I was nominated to participate in, little did I know that this mornings reading would follow the same message. 💫✨ I love #synchronicity so much🌟🙏🏼

We’re being reminded to find the balance between work and play this week. We can become so consumed by the daily grind, tough decisions and overloading work that we forget to embrace the fun in life. It may be challenging at times to find this balance between work and our personal lives, but doing so does wonders for our physical and emotional wellbeing.

Being a momma, starting my own business and making sure everyone is okay, while still finding time to myself can get tough!! I still find myself putting things off because something else ‘more important’ comes up… so yea, I’ve been there. 👆

We’re being gently nudged to stop procrastinating, to take our power back and take action! If you’re finding it difficult to make a decision, ask for help. Make lists, delegate tasks, remove what isn’t necessary and book that trip that you’ve been wanting to go on, buy that book you’ve been wanting to read or pitch that idea that you’ve been day-dreaming about for months! 🔑 Whatever your desired outcome, whatever it is that you are longing to achieve ~ physical, intellectual, financial, emotional or spiritual ~ you are responsible for your choices that get you there, and when you honour yourselves by making those decisions that are right for YOU, you may just be pleasantly surprised by the outcome! 🙏🏼 Go out, get it, do it, book it, write it, create it – just do what makes you happy, do what makes your heart sing. The only person stopping you, is YOU! 💙

~ Cleanse my Mind, Body, and Soul. Part 2…

IMG_3319Last week I discussed the importance of what I call a full mind, body and soul detox and cleanse, and if you have any questions about that or not quite sure what I was talking about, drop me a mail or comment below and I will get in touch!

Today I want to share my personal MBS Detox routine that I set time aside for at least twice a week. If I don’t get a chance to do it, I really start to feel it! My body gets achy, my energy levels drop, I start becoming irritable and cranky, and I just start feeling pretty dreadful. It’s a simple practice that I made a point of regularly incorporating into my week, and like I said previously, I now can’t live without it!!

Before I get into the details, I want to just remind you that this is a practice that I have developed through my own personal self-care and works for my mind, body, and soul. I encourage everyone to find something that works for you and only do what makes you feel 100% comfortable. 

So here’s what I do, it’s really pretty simple and practical. At least twice a week I will use my local gym’s sauna and steam rooms to 1. detox (sauna) and 2. cleanse (steam). Aside from the additional health benefits of steam rooms and saunas, this is my weekly “spring cleaning”.


I begin in the sauna, and as I’m sitting there feeling my body warm up, I intend that the heat from the sauna is bringing all the negative energy and toxins stored in my body, my mind and my energetic body to the surface. Naturally, the heat of the sauna soothes your nerve endings and warms and relaxes muscles, in turn relieving the tension from your body and minimizing joint pain.

Close your eyes, lay down (or sit) and relax. Breathe deeply in and out, visualising the warm air entering your body, warming up your insides, circulating your body and loosening all that energetic gunk, dis-comfort or pain that is being stored. Starting from your toes, up your legs, through your torso, into your heart and chest, up your throat into your mind and out down your arms and fingers. Feel the heat lifting and carrying that gunk, the aches and pains out of your body through your feet, hand and skin (perspiration). If there is a particular ache in my body, I say “I release what no longer serves me” when I get to it, this helps the body lift it and carry it away. Do this as many times as you feel necessary, and remember intention is everything here!

Once you feel that you have had enough time in the sauna (listen to your body, it will guide you), cool down completely before the next step. You can rinse off in the shower to help cool down.


Once your heart rate has slowed to normal, and you have cooled down, enter the steam room. Repeat the detox process, but with one little difference. Now, as you breathe in the moist air, your intention and visualisation is that the warm, pure air is cleaning and cleansing every part of your body, mind, and energetic body. Feel the white air fill the now cleansed spaces with love, compassion, and gratitude. Intend that the heavy, wet air that surrounds you is a heavy blanket, covering you and clearing away any energetic gunk that lingers in, and around, you.

When you feel you are cleansed and have had enough time in the steam room, wash off and you are set to go!

If you don’t have access to a steam room or sauna, you can also do this in the shower or soaking in the tub which I do if I can’t get to the gym. There is no rule on how long you need to do it for, but I caution when using a sauna and steam room to use common sense, don’t push your body beyond what feels right and comfortable.

Personally, I love the heat from the sauna, and can spend up to an hour in it, but that is ME! I also use tumbled smokey quartz in the steam room to assist with the removal of energetic gunk, but I will go do another post on how you can incorporate healing crystals and essential oils into cleansing exercises.

**If you have low blood pressure, are pregnant or have cardiac issues, please do seek medical advice before-hand. It is often recommended to have short breaks in between sauna and steam room sessions to cool down, i.e. use the sauna for 10 minutes, exit and cool down and enter for an additional 10 minutes.

Regular MBS detox and cleanse goes a long way to a healthy flow of energy through the body, resulting in us feeling more balanced, reducing negative emotions and behaviours, like mood swings, stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!

~ Monday Mandala: Speak your truth! ~

Communication, Communication, COMMUNICATION!!!


📢 How we send and receive messages is so important in today’s world! Writing down our thoughts and ideas is even more important, and something we rarely take the time to do.

Communication with ourselves, others and our spiritual families (higher self, guides, Angels, totem animals, etc.) is something that is so vital in today’s chaotic pace. The ability to do so honestly, freely and clearly is not something that always comes so easy, especially when it comes to being open minded in the understanding of what others say and do.

Celestite, Sodalite, Blue Lace Agate and Clear Quartz provide us with a mix of gentle, loving energies that help us express ourselves creatively, through speech and clear thought!
